James Corban: AGS 1000 miler

$155 of $500 goal
Given by 3 generous donors in 13 days

This page is so I can help raise money for the Key to Life Charitable Trust through the 1000 miler event at AGS.

Auckland

The 1000 miler, held every four years, will take place at Auckland Grammar from April 12-16 as part of the School’s 150 year celebrations and giving back programme. It will involve present students, Old Boys, past/present staff members and high profile community and sporting personalities.

The runners will run a 1km circuit around the grounds of the School and the aim is to run 1000 miles, in relay within 100 hours (approximately 4.5 days). 100% of all funds raise from the event will go to The Key of Life charitable trust, run by Mike King, the 2019 New Zealander of the Year.

The event creates its own collective spirit, unique character and becomes one of the major memories of a student’s time at Auckland Grammar. The event installs many positive attributes in the young men taking part - they quickly learn the art of setting personal goals and the importance of working as a team.

The year 12s and 13s shift for the event is from 12am to 8am for four nights in a row. It is rather hard but also fun and rewarding.

About the charity we are supporting:

The Key to Life Charitable Trust is committed to a long term goal of a zero suicide rate in New Zealand. The Key to Life Charitable Trust (originally created as The Nutters Club Charitable Trust in 2010 and since renamed) is a community peer support group, aiming to forever change the way New Zealanders think, act and feel about mental health and suicide. By working seamlessly with mental health professionals, service providers, astute business leaders, and our communities we believe it is possible to reverse the population trends of depression and suicide by effecting a positive social change.
