Jamie's 'Fit to Fight' Challenge to support The Haemophilia Foundation NZ
Auckland
On Friday 2nd July I’ll be stepping in the ring to take part in Boxing Alley's 'Fit to Fight' charity body sparring fight night (few liver / rib shots incoming I’m sure!) to raise money for Haemophilia Foundation of NZ Inc. Jamie & Co. is the main sponsor of the event!
WHY?
Haemophilia is something very close to me with my sister Zoe being diagnosed with this rare bleeding disorder when she was 8 years old.
Zoe was able to manage this well, living life to the fullest until she was 19 (in 2019) when she suffered a bleed on her brain, which left her fighting for her life in intensive care. After spending eight months in hospital, Zoe went home and started intensive rehab.
Over the last two years Zoe has been learning to walk, talk, read, write and many things that you take for granted all over again. (It puts your own life in perspective, believe me!)
The Haemophilia Foundation (albeit the UK Foundation) work hard to support those diagnosed with bleeding disorders & have been a part of Zoe's life for over 10 years now. So, it's important for me to give back and would love your support to do so.
WHAT IS HAEMOPHILIA?
Haemophilia is a mostly inherited genetic disorder that impairs the body's ability to make blood clots, a process needed to stop bleeding. This results in people bleeding longer after an injury, easily bruising, and an increased risk of bleeding inside joints or the brain.
Join us and support the participants of Boxing Alley's 'Fit To Fight' challenge who are fundraising for their chosen charities!
