Jenny and Stan Braaksma- Te Aotearoa Challenge
Riding for a cause. Cycling from Cape Reinga to Bluff to raise funds for spinal cord injury research.

Back in 2015 we were inspired while listening to CatWalk founder Catriona Williams challenging us to "expand our boundaries".
The CatWalk Spinal Cord Injury Research Trust (CatWalk) was founded in 2005. Catriona was a leading NZ horse rider who had a fall and is a tetraplegic.
The CatWalk vision is a world free from spinal cord injury (SCI) paralysis and we are taking on this challenge and hope you will support us by donating on our Givealittle page. All funds raised will go to CatWalk.
A bit about ourselves:
Stan
No fixed abode but a "Naki" supporter.
A long sporting background in many and varied sports.
A need to see NZ from another angle.
Promotor and user of cycling trails
Elements of Madness.
Need to fill a bucket list item.
Jenny
Born and bred in Southland
High energy levels drained by 40+ years of pre schoolers.
Active in intergenerational family activities.
Started as a "dare" but now has discovered
recreational cycling.
Not to have Hubby beat me.
To see NZ in a different light.

What inspired us?
Attending a Conference in Masterton 2015 and Catriona Williams was the after-dinner speaker where she inspired and challenged us to "Expand our Boundaries".
While we couldn't answer her immediate call to complete the New York marathon (with her) there was an inspirational buy-in to complete some challenge well beyond the normal day to day activities.
We feel honoured to tackle Te Aotearoa Challenge, Cape Reinga to Bluff on two wheels, unassisted and all the more important is that we can do it for "CatWalk".

We've made it!! 13 March 2018
3000km for CatWalk, arriving 3.30pm Sunday 11th amongst a Masterton crowd waiting for us. We have picked up some donations along the way and had plenty of enquiries about CatWalk. Thank you to everyone who has supported!
