Jerome's trip to India with OHFI
International
Kia Ora!
In February of the new year, myself and 10 others are traveling to India for 2 weeks alongside Open Home Foundation International (OHFI). The trip will involve our group visiting several tuition centres throughout Kolkata as well as a school in Manipor.
OHFI is a charity organisation devoted to supporting children and their families around the world. They train vulnerable communities to become self-sufficient upon the skills of their own people. OHFI has partnered with incredible people and communities in Rwanda, Zambia, Romania, Uganda, Kolkata, and Manipur in India. In these countries, OHFI provides social work support, health care clinics, tuition centres and schools.
Our hope is that through interacting with local communities we will be able to foster cross-cultural, long-lasting relationships with the communities and individuals we connect with. We are also planning to share the stories of those we meet once back in Aotearoa!
This trip is self-funded, so any financial support to help cover costs (flights, travel vaccines, equipment etc.) would be a huge blessing :) Any money raised above and beyond will used to purchase equipment for the communities we visit.

Thank you!!! 27 February 2023
Kia ora everyone, I'm back!
I want to say a BIG thank you for all your support, whether financial or prayerful - or both! We are so so blessed to be able to say we had no major hiccups on this amazing trip. We had some difficulties for sure! But we all made it there and back in one piece so for that we are grateful.
I've just finished creating a (rather large) online collection of photos and videos using Google photos. This will be free for anyone to view using the link here:

Please feel free to show these to friends and family, my only ask is that you do not post these online. If you would like to see more of what we were up to as a group there are saved instagram stories from each day of the trip which can be found on OHFI's Instagram profile @ohfisocial
I also have similar stories on my profile @j.rome99
If you would like to hear more reflections from myself or have any questions about the trip or OHFI's involvement in India please feel free to message me on Facebook or email via jromejfwilliams@gmail.com :)
Grace and peace
- Jerome
