Participating in Climb 4 Youth 2021
Waikato
So, as a 60 year with a “very” dodgy knee I’ve signed up for a mountain (no pun intended) of pain, lots of it and no doubt for days afterwards too. I’m actually thinking of seeking sponsorship from the likes of Voltaren or Futuro!!!!
I’ll be attempting to climb the Hakarimata Summit steps at least 2 times in 4 hours on the 19th June. That’s 5,396 steps up and 5,396 steps down.
I’ll be representing the Graeme Dingle Foundation Waikato by joining this fantastic campaign. Other climbers will also be proving that what they have inside is greater than the obstacle they face.
My goal is to raise $5,396. That’s only $1.00 for every step!!!!
This is an absolutely fantastic cause and I am passionate about Graeme Dingle Foundation Waikato, of which I am Chair, and the mission of empowering young people to overcome life’s obstacle.
Every $1 we fundraise and invest provide benefits of $7.80 back into our communities.
By setting and achieving return trips, and a fundraising goal, all the climbers will be role-modelling our mission and will support Graeme Dingle Foundation Waikato to deliver action packed values based programmes to our tamariki and rangatahi.
Anyone that’s done the ‘hux’ before knows the mental and physical battle it is.
If you can, please donate, as a banker I’ve worked out that if 270 people donate $20 or 110 people donate $50 I’ll get to my target.
Ngā mihi nui!!!
