Participating in Drop for Youth Western Bay of Plenty 2024!
Bay of Plenty
Kiwi Can is a programme provided by the Graeme Dingle Foundation which has been running at Te Kura o Manunui for many years. We have two Kiwi can leaders who are at our kura Wednesday Thursday Friday each week. They teach themes that relate to our school values, this term focusing on enhancing manawaroa (resilience) within our students. Each class participates in weekly sessions.
Our current leaders are Brant and Ayla and their lessons involve role plays, games and activities. It is a heap of fun for our tamariki with strong messages taken from it. We are so proud to announce that we have won the following awards at this year’s regional awards evening:
Top Kiwi Can School in the Western Bay
Top Kiwi Can Pupil for the Western Bay Caleb Samuels for Integrity.
Top Kiwi Can Leaders for the Western Bay
We are celebrating our wins and giving back to the Kiwi Can organisation by taking part in Drop for Youth (skydive fundraiser) where Matua Kaydin and Asher Matthews will show us anything is possible with the right attitude and courage! We hope everyone will get behind supporting Kiwi Can, a vital programme in our school. Feel free to ask your children how they feel about Kiwi Can to support your decision in donating to this kaupapa.
Graeme Dingle Foundation WBOP's Drop For Youth event supports young people in our region and helps transform young lives forever.
