Laura's Taupo Cycle Challenge for Hospice

I am aiming to raise $10,000 for Totara Hospice. Please sponsor me $1 per km (or less!) for my 160k ride around Lake Taupo in November.

We typically don't realise how important hospice is until someone we care about needs to be there. For the last three weeks of December 2011 my mother stayed at the Totara Hospice. She was able to rest and spend time with our family in their peaceful environment.

I have voluteered for Totara Hospice in the past, but am keen to do something bigger. Through riding around lake Taupo (~153km) I aim to raise $10,000 for the hospice.

To put it in perspective, Totara Hospice is typically free and caters to an area covering nearly half of a million Aucklanders. Not only do they care for patients who stay on the premises, but they take day patients and provide home visits and telephone advice.

Please help me help them.
