Let's do this and get funds for Waipuna Hospice

Support me to Support Waipuna Hospice to Support our patients and whanau. Every $ raised will ensure care for our community can be provided!

Bay of Plenty

Waipuna Hospice cares for people in their last year of life. Services cover the Western Bay of Plenty and I, as CEO of this organisation, and as a community member feel I have to do something to assist Waipuna to raise much needed funds that will be used to provide services in our local community.

Each year Waipuna Hospice has to fundraise $2.7Million to maintain the status quo for service provision. As you will understand in a growing community such as ours, this will also continue to grow. Today this equates to about $52,000 a week. A staggering amount that through the excellent support of our local community and events such as this we manage to make ends meet.

I am really proud to be able to do this for this charity - I am thankful that I have the capacity to do the challenge too - many of our patients won't and this is a small way for me to do my bit for them.

I want to see Waipuna Hospice be able to meet its goals in fundraising. This challenge will help hugely with this - I'm also CEO of Waipuna Hospice, a bit overweight (OK a lot) and will achieve two goals with one activity - fundraise and get fit (AKA lose weight!) - all in less than 50 days...bring it on!

The homeward stretch!  15 March 2018

Stretching has been the order of the day over the past few weeks....especially the calf muscles! One thing that hasn't been stretched is my shirts...I have lost weight! Not sure how much but I am definitely finding the shirt less "figure hugging"! - so one goal seems to be getting achieved!

So I have 5 more to complete and it would appear plenty of time to complete the challenge....

Some things I have enjoyed about the challenge - all those people who say "well done" and "good on ya!" when I wear the Challenge T-Shirt, and that comradeship when you see a fellow T-shirt wearer!

As for the sunrises they have been amazing.

Thanks to all those who have sponsored me so far...

Thanks
