Fundraiser for the The Little Miracles Trust in honour of our son Magnus' (ex 30 weeker NICU graduate) due date
Canterbury
On 7th September 2025, our son Magnus made his very unexpected arrival earthside at 30 weeks 2 days gestation. He was just 1621g and needed life-saving care in NICU as he grew big and strong enough to breathe on his own, regulate his body temperature and learn how to feed.
10 weeks later, we've finally reached his official due date, and we want to do something to give back.
When you walk through those NICU doors, you enter a world you never knew existed and one that will never, ever leave you. Instead of that long-anticipated first cry, your baby on your chest and the bliss of the newborn bubble, you're thrown heart-first into an whirlwind of fear, uncertainty and beeping machines. You meet your child for the first time through a plastic box, covered in wires and so fragile you're scared to touch them. You leave empty handed to a half-completed nursery, pumping rather than nursing, not knowing when (or if) you'll get to bring them home.
The Little Miracles Trust is one of the incredible support systems helping hold families together behind the scenes as they navigate the most difficult journey of their lives. From surprise care packages to financial assistance, grief support, advocacy and NICU graduate developmental playgroups, their work is so, so important.
If you've been touched by Magnus' story, have a story of your own, or just want to support a worthy cause, please consider donating. To all the little miracles, it means the world.
