Martin Wienk Jetski Marathon for NZ Prostate Cancer 2019

$5,090 donated
Given by 25 generous donors in 4 weeks

Tutukaka to Tauranga on a Jetski to raise funds for NZ Prostate Cancer Research.

International

With around 3000 men being affected and over 600 dying per year, prostate cancer is the leading cause of cancer in New Zealand men.

Doctors do not know what causes prostate cancer. They do know, however, that the growth of cancer cells in the prostate is stimulated by male hormones, especially testosterone. Most prostate cancer growth is influenced by testosterone.

I know some guys who have been affected by prostate cancer and it is a truly terrible illness, a cancer is often very hard to find when it is located only within the prostate. This is because it may not cause symptoms and may be too small for a doctor to feel during a routine rectal exam.

By donating to prostate cancer research, we can develop a better understanding as to what causes prostate cancer and one day maybe even prevent or cure it.

So please give generously!

I participated in the 2017 Wellington to Auckland Jetski marathon to raise funds for NZ Melanoma research where we raised over $100,000 together.

I am now participating in the 2019 Tutukaka to Tauranga Jetski marathon to raise funds for NZ Prostate cancer research and we are hoping to double our record this year.
