Swimming the length of Lakes Hawea and Wanaka over five days to raise money for The Cancer Society.

Hi I'm Meg Mclaughlan. I am 17 years old and I am going to be swimming the lengths of Lakes Hawea and Wanaka at the end of this year to raise money for The Cancer Society.

This swim is around 80km and I will be swimming it solo with support crew over five days. I am a competitive swimmer and have been for around 4 years. Although I have a lot of experience in the pool I have never attempted anything like this so it will be an amazing challenge.

Cancer is something that impacts almost everyone at some time during their life. The Cancer Society is a great cause and I would love for businesses and people to show their support by sponsoring the swim with all funds going to The Cancer Society.

My swim starts on the 28th of December 2020 and I hope to finish on the Wanaka lake front on the 1st of January. If you would like to follow along with me on my journey go to @swim4acure on instagram and give it a follow
