Fundraising for Accelerating Aotearoa Incorporated
Otara, Auckland
Or to be more precise, on Sunday 8th March I'm joining around 27,000 on Auckland's Round the Bays, NZ's largest fun run. The event starts in the city and finishes in St Heliers where we live and it seemed rude not to take part as I walk part of the course every day.
I'm raising funds for Accelerating Aotearoa, a charity that provides community support for people living in financial hardship in Otara, South Auckland. The charity aims to eliminate digital poverty through its IT hub which offers access to computers and free wifi, along with training, advice and practical support including recycled clothing, a health clinic and weekly food parcels. To continue this vital work, the charity needs to upgrade its aging computers and I'm hoping to raise enough for a new laptop. That's where you come in - please give a little to this great cause. Knowing that I'm helping Accelerating Aotearoa will get me round the course, hopefully within the allotted time! Thanks a million!

Target exceeded! 3 April 2026
Huge thanks to everyone both here in NZ and in the UK and Canada who have so kindly sponsored me. In addition to the amounts raised through this page on Give A Little, I have further cash donations totalling NZ130.00 from Phil and Cherie Bowker, Mary Cunningham and the O'Leary family which I will be paying into Accelerating Aotearoa direct so am pleased to report that I have exceeded my target! Once again, a massive thank you to everyone who has made this possible.
Micky xx
