Miles for Mackenzie: Raising money after the loss of a baby

  • Final update

      13 July 2024

    Hi all,

The legs have just about recovered after clocking 17 laps or 114km at the Krayzie Midwinter Backyard Ultra a fortnight ago.

A massive thank you to everyone you generously donated, and to those who ventured out to Spencer Park or sent messages of support.

I'm sure then nearly $8000 raised will be put to good use by Sands, and help support families who're faced with the unthinkable.

    Sincere thanks,

    Blair

      28 June 2024

Hi again everyone, The countdown is on. A huge thanks to the more than 80 people who’ve contributed nearly $6000 in total to-date - I’m hugely grateful. The race, which has no set end, kicks off at 7.30am on Saturday. You can track my progress via this link: https://my.raceresult.com/297022/participants

  • One week to go

      22 June 2024

Hi everyone, The donations have continued steadily since my last update a fortnight ago ($4,400 to-date). It's hugely appreciated. Despite the bout of Covid earlier this month, training's gone well. This time next week, I hope to be 12 hours (80km) in to my run, with potentially a very long, cold and lonely night ahead of me. Every dollar donated will encourage me to suffer through another loop. In the meantime, I'd be grateful if you shared my page to keep the funds rolling in for a very worthy cause. Happy to take pledges on a per lap basis. Thanks.

  • Thanks for your support

      4 June 2024

Hi everyone, Thanks for the very generous donations (nearly $3000 in a week). It's much appreciated. Unfortunately I was laid up with Covid for much of last week, which limited my training. However, I'm back firing on all cylinders, and looking forward to race day. In the meantime, I'd be grateful if you shared my page to keep the donations rolling in. Cheers, Blair
