Flame does amazing work with these children in the slums of Phnom Pehn offering them hope and a future through their programs.

International

My wife and I had the privaledge of visiting FLAME and the work they do in the slums in Phnom Penh Cambodia a couple of years ago. The experiance changed our lives and we have become supporters of what they do ever since. Seeing children with no hope of a future be given an opportunity to go to school and learn and eventually get out of the slum life impacted us both deeply. As Dairy farmers in NZ we know the value of nutritous meals in the developement of children and Flames committment to provide these children with lunches everyday is life changing for these families. We absolutely want to contribute also to a healthy beverage alternative to the other unhealthy choices out there. Heres what FLAME had to say:

CAN YOU IMAGINE NOT HAVING MILK TO DRINK GROWING UP?

As Kiwi kids, drinking milk was just part of what we did growing up.

We know it’s good for us.

We know it helps us grow healthy bones.

And don’t we all just love a good milk moustache!

But for thousands of children growing up in Cambodian slums, having milk is a dream for so many parents who can’t afford it. There are no dairy farms in Cambodia which means all milk has to be imported into the country and is considered a luxury supermarket item.

Most slum-living children suffer from malnutrition and rotten teeth due to lack of calcium and other minerals.

We’re currently feeding all 150 children within our program healthy lunches every day. That’s 750 lunches every week. But we need extra funding to buy milk.

Help us add a small bottle of milk to every kid's lunch, to give a better and healthier start in life!

We urgently need to raise $9500 by the 15 SEPTEMBER so we can start feeding milk to our kids straight away!

"I feel happy because I have more friends now who study with me and what is really great is that it's free so I can go. We also get lunch and a snack. Before I am 23kg and now I am 28kg and I want more children come to learn with us.” - Sochear 9 years old.

Funds will be used to purchase small bottles of milk in bulk to include in every kid's lunch Monday to Friday.
