Mohawks for Mental Health Awareness - Loud hair for a silent dis.ease

I love an adventure, and this time it's a bit of a different one. Mental Health is silent, but Mohawks certainly aren't.

On the 1st September I pledge to shave my luscious locks, well all except the strip down the middle and rock a mohawk for a solid month.

The donations will be split evenly between two organisations. First being the I Am Hope Foundation, they provide in-school and community mental health programmes. Second being a non-profit organisation called Mothers Helpers who support mothers suffering with Post Natal Depression and Anxiety. They are both close to my heart personally knowing incredible humans who have suffered with the dis.ease (and if you're reading this, know that you are bloody amazing). Being a mother myself, I know how challenging it can be. We all know someone who has needed help at some point in their lives, or we have needed the help ourselves and that is totally okay. But, we need more support, from professionals, especially for our kids, then maybe, we'll have a huge amount of mentally healthy adults that can support a brighter future. And by supporting the mother, you are supporting the family unit to stick together.

The hair that is cut will be donated to Hair Collect - they are NZ based and take donated hair to make wigs and the profits go to Aroha Community Ministries in Jinja, Uganda.

$500 = I get the mohawk, $1000=rainbow coloured mohawk, $2000= My hubby Tom's going to get one too, matching, how cute.
