Two pom's to 4807m at the top of the Alps to raise money for those battling Cancer
Nelson
31st May 2018 our Mum and loving wife and grandmother Alison Starr passed away after a battle with breast cancer.
The Nelson Tasman hospice supported Alison throughout her illness and in her final days and hours. As a family we are truly grateful for the support and care they gave our mum and our family through this difficult time.
In October 2019 Simon and Dean ventured to Everest Base Camp raising $19,000 and now in June they will take on Mont Blanc in the Alps to summit at 4807m. Just over half of the operational costs for Hospice come from government funding, the rest from fundraising and community activities each year. Please show Alison your support by giving what you can.
Thank you The Starr Family
Summited 👍🏻 1 July 2022
Wednesday morning we got to the top of Mount Weissmies in Switzerland. 4017m.
Unfortunately Mont Blanc wasn’t on the cards for us this week, so over to Switzerland for the back up plan.
A long day starting at 4am to climb 1100m up to the summit to catch the morning sun, then a big 2300m to descend down to the valley floor.
Thank you to all those who’ve donated. We’ll be keeping the page open for a few more weeks and Dad will be putting on an evening in Nelson at some point around August to say thank you and tell the full story of our adventure in person.
