Looking for extra motivation to complete the Queenstown Marathon. What better way then to raise money and awareness for mental wellbeing.
Waikato
I am running the Queenstown Marathon this Saturday 16th November and although it's not my first marathon, I am apprehensive that I am not suitably prepared. In my last big training run I hit the wall and felt like I could not go any further.
This is why I need extra motivation to get me through those 42kms.
Running a marathon is as much a mental challenge as it is physical, it's about staying positive, picturing the end goal, celebrating the milestones and carrying on when you really don't want to.
To help me a long it would be awesome to have another reason to complete the run. Therefore I am looking for sponsorship for my run with donations going to the Sir John Kirwan Foundation. This organisation does incredible work for mental wellness. The mental challenges that I will experience in trying to complete the marathon will be similar to many ordinary people across New Zealand during their typical day. So please give a little to support me and this fantastic cause.
A few of my work colleagues at the Ministry of Justice, based in Hamilton are also doing their part by competing in this weekends Hamilton Round the Bridges race.
Therefore please give a little for our combined efforts.
Thank you 👍
Doing what I can to support positive mental health and well-being.
