24 Hour Movement Matters Relay for Diabetes

Christchurch, Canterbury

Diabetes Fundraiser/Awareness Event

We encourage people to come down and join Connor as he completes laps of Hagley Park for 24hrs, starting Saturday November 19 at 12pm and finishing Sunday November 20th at 12pm. Bring a skateboard/bike/scooter/roller blades or just yourself, the circuit will go around Hagley Park South and part of Hagley Park North. There will be a gazebo located near the corner of Hagley Ave and Riccarton Ave. There will be VIBE drinks to taste and also a BBQ and coffee cart over the weekend. All donations are greatly appreciated.

I have always been passionate about creating more awareness for Diabetes. One goal I want to achieve is to show kids/teens who have diabetes the positive effects of movement, and how it can have a great influence on their physical and mental health and also the boost it gives in terms of blood sugar control. I hope this event will encourage kids/teens with Diabetes to take up new sports/hobbies and also help them push their personal boundaries in whatever activities they are already taking part in. I believe this event has the potential to positively influence a large group of people. The money raised will be put towards local events/camps.
