Riding for the disabled is such a worthy cause. 38 times in 50 days won't be easy , please join me if you can.
Bay of Plenty
As a college teacher I have seen many students participate in riding for the disabled.
They welcome and assist people of all ages. A person may be referred to them in a number of ways, including word of mouth or referral from a health, recreational or teaching professional. Over 80 per cent of their riders are children and teenagers. 37 per cent have a physical or intellectual disability while just over a quarter are on the autistic spectrum. Many of their riders live with more than one disability.
I have often commented that when I set foot on Mauao it makes me feel at home and grounded - closer to the people I miss most. Much the same as my students talk about feeling while riding.
Life is busy and 38 times in 50 days won't be easy but I know I can do it. Feel free to join me.
As a teacher I have seen the amazing benefit our students have gained being outdoors, building confidence, calming, soothing, improving posture and co-ordination. I wish every student could experience this and I want to help make it possible.
The Mount Everest Challenge is back! Join us and Climb the Mount 38 times in 50 days to raise money for Tauranga Riding for the Disabled.
