The journey of 8,848 miles starts with just one step
Bay of Plenty
I have set myself a wero (challenge) to climb the mighty Maunga Mauao 38 times in 50 days to raise some pūtea (money) for Tauranga Riding for the Disabled. This wero will test not only my tīnana (physical) health but also my hinengaro (mental) health. I have experienced a rollercoaster ride over the past 12 months with many wero successfully achieved, some that I am close to achieving, and some that are more long term, but each one of them testing my strength, ability, and determination. I entered into 2019 believing that this was going to be my year, a year that was going to be about becoming a better "me". Please tautoko (support) me in making my wero a success. Please feel free to join me in some of my climbs. It is a beautiful experience being able to connect with our beautiful Maunga (mountain) and Papatuanuku (mother earth) as I climb, and this certainly helps to keeping my wairua (spirit) healthy. The challenge starts Friday 22 February and ends on 12 April so please open your wallets for a very worthy cause, every little bit helps.

Climb number 38 completed on Sunday March 10th... challenge completed in 17 days. So because I haven't been challenged enough I've decided to do the "My climb down Mount Everest Challenge" now. After having a 10 day rest from climbing Mauao I am.now going to climb another 38 times up and down Mauao. So today I completed climbs 7 & 8. 30 climbs to go in 20 days... I've so got this!!
