I am skydiving to raise money so that Auckland/Northland children living with cancer can get to experience the magic of Camp Quality.
Auckland
Camp Quality is an amazing organisation that brings fun, hope and happiness into the lives of children living with cancer. Their annual summer camps, winter camps and activity days are all managed and run by dedicated teams of volunteers.
The camps and activities provide a stress-free and caring environment for the children where fun and friendship are combined with achievable challenges - allowing the children to “just be kids” in a safe environment and where cancer is not the focus.
Each child is paired up with a friendly, trained “companion”, a fun-loving adult who makes sure that each child’s camp experience is the best it can possibly be. These relationships, and the ones formed between the kids on camp, are truly special and often last well beyond the days of camp.
I first attended camp in 2000 as a camper and have never left. Over the years I have made so many wonderful friends and grown in to the ambitious woman I am today. After graduating from camp in 2008 I quickly returned as a companion then joined the management committee as the Photographer. Camp Quality is life!
Camp Quality passionately believes in the power of fun to help children and their families overcome the challenges that living with cancer can bring.
I am choosing to throw myself out of a plane so that a child living with cancer can get to enjoy camp and make lasting friendships and memories.
Camp Quality brings fun, hope and happiness into the lives of children living with cancer - supporting them to get on with just being kids.
