Trying to help bring Awareness to Mental Health and raise money towards free counselling for kids through The Key to Life (I Am Hope)
Nationwide
A bit of a back story, on my C2C 2019 efforts...
FAILED....
Yip I did, and man do I feel absolutely sick to my stomach, not really because I didn’t make it to the end, but it’s the letting people down that have helped and supported me to get here.
Again it’s not too makes excuses but it really has been one of those years that has really pushed me to my boundaries and even a wee bit over.
What I can say though is I will give 150% this year and come back even stronger and I know I’m not a robot. The thing I learnt was that sometimes it’s ok to let the fear go and just be confident in the decision we have made.
Yes I say I failed and just gutted, but I’m also ok with it in a silly way, because I have given it a go and have this year come away with something better than a medal.
LEASONS!!
This give a little page is to raise money for the people who, like me, struggle not with what's happening physically, but what is happening mentally.
I feel that all people, athlete or not (let’s be clear, I do not class myself as an athlete, just your average kiwi bloke), struggle with mental health when it comes to trying to push yourself outside your comfort zone where we have little to no control.
I never approach events such as the Coast to Coast, as a race, but more of an event, of something I have come to conquer for myself, a race with just me in it, and whether I'm first or last, I am always proud that I gave it a go.
