We are raising funds to help our comrades and their families get through tough times.
Canterbury
The Missing Wingman Trust (RNZAF) is the only charity in New Zealand that supports military families when someone is killed, wounded, injured or becomes ill, whether in New Zealand or overseas.
We are going to be putting ourselves through the wringer in a few weeks time, and want to use this as an opportunity to raise some funds for our comrades who need them the most. We are competing in Chapter 8 of the GODZone adventure race from the 10th till 17th of March, travelling around Canterbury.
The race involves 555.5 km of Trekking, Canoeing, Mountain-Biking and Sea Kayaking. We reckon we are worth 50 cents each per kilometer, so our target is to raise $1111 by the time we cross the finish line. The course is expected to take between four and seven days to finish, so if you work it out as an hourly rate we aren't asking for much!
We are four young members of the Royal New Zealand Air Force who have a huge amount of respect for our comrades who have served before us, and those who still continue to serve at home and abroad. This is an opportunity for us to raise some funds that will be used to help our fellow servicemen and their families when times get tough.
