Pedal for a Purpose: 874km Solo Ride for Breast Cancer Awareness

$17,505 of $12,500 goal
Given by 163 generous donors in around 3 months

Join me on an 874km solo mountain bike adventure through Whanganui's hinterland as I raise funds and awareness for breast cancer awareness

Auckland

Hi everyone,

Breast cancer is something that has touched all of us in one way or another. For me, it hit home when I lost my amazing sister Genevieve to this disease. She was only 37, and this year marks a decade since we said goodbye. To honour her memory and help others affected by breast cancer, I’m taking on a massive challenge—the Renegade Muster.

What’s the Renegade Muster? It’s an 874km mountain bike adventure in the hinterland of Whanganui where I’ll be out there on my own—no help, no support, just me, my bike, and everything I need to survive. I’ll sleep wherever I can find a spot, carry all my supplies, and push myself harder than ever before. I’ve been training while juggling 3 kids and the like, and now I’m ready to ride (I hope!)

But I can’t do this alone. I’m raising funds for breast cancer research and support services, and I’m asking for your help. Every dollar counts, and together, we can make a real difference.

I’ll be sharing my journey on social media so you can follow along, cheer me on, and see firsthand what your support is helping to achieve. This ride is for Genevieve, for everyone who’s faced breast cancer, and for a future where this disease no longer takes our loved ones.

Thanks so much for being part of this journey with me

Thank you!  2 December 2024

I did it! I’ve officially completed the Renegade Muster, and I’m beyond stoked with a 24th-place finish—especially considering the calibre of competitors and the gruelling conditions! Over 874 km and more than 12,000 meters of climbing, I pushed through and crossed the finish line in 4 days, 8 hours, and 32 minutes.

This race was no joke—long, technical rides and a lot of mental battles, especially after 15-hour days on the bike. There were moments I wanted to quit, but the incredible messages of support kept me going. Your encouragement truly made the difference, especially when things got tough.

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve smashed my initial fundraising goal of $2,500, raising an incredible $17,505 for the Breast Cancer Foundation! I’m humbled and grateful for every single donation and the generosity of all.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being part of this journey. Together, we’ve made a difference.
