Phil's birthday fundraiser for Trees That Count
Wellington
This year I'm raising money for Trees That Count, a New Zealand based conservation charity bringing together business, community and everyday Kiwis, with the vision of helping plant millions of native trees across Aotearoa.
Planting native trees is one of the most powerful actions we can take to combat climate change, protect our beautiful landscapes, waterways and forests for future generations. As trees grow, they remove carbon dioxide from the air, store carbon in the trees and soil, and release oxygen into the atmosphere. Trees provide many benefits to us, every day. They offer cooling shade, block cold winter winds, attract birds and wildlife, purify our air, prevent soil erosion, clean our water, and add grace and beauty to our homes and communities.
For every $10 (or approx. £5) donated one tree will be planted. I know it's been a tough couple of years with COVID, but let's look forward to the future and, more importantly, make sure we have one to look forward to. I'd like to encourage my friends and whānau both in New Zealand and the UK to consider making a donation. Thank you 😊🙏
