Raising awareness around mental health in the NZDF and our first responders through community and Te Kiwi Māia.
Waiouru, Manawatu-Wanganui
This year I’m on a mission to raise awareness for mental health in the NZDF and our first responder’s.
It takes courage to check in on mate and real strength to ask for help when you need it…
NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE !!
24hr ERG challenge June 2016 29 June 2026
This challenge was created to raise awareness of mental health within the NZDF and our first responder communities.
We chose to support Te Kiwi Māia, a not-for-profit organisation founded and run by NZDF personnel who dedicate their time to supporting current and former service members, first responders, and their whānau when they need it most.
While we’ve measured this challenge in hours, kilometres, and dollars raised, its true success can’t be measured by numbers alone.
If this challenge has encouraged even one person to reach out, start a conversation, or realise they don’t have to face their struggles alone, then it has achieved exactly what we set out to do.
Mental health affects us all, and asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey through donations, encouragement, and by helping spread the message. Together, we’re making a difference.
