Participating in Westpac Chopper Appeal Bike Ride 2023
Nationwide
Anyone. Anywhere. Anytime.
The rescue helicopters across NZ fly thousands of missions every year saving the lives of everyday Kiwi’s. As a volunteer firefighter with the Leeston Volunteer Fire Brigade we work alongside the amazing crew of our local rescue helicopter and I know for a fact that chopper country isn’t just remote areas – it’s the places you live and love. It’s your favourite picnic spot, the road to work, the family bach, or the beach where you walk your dog.
In 2006 I was part of the South Island group that rode from Invercargill to Wellington in the first ever Chopper Ride. On the 12th of May I’ll be spending 8-9 hours on my bike and, alongside an awesome bunch of people, cycling 245km from Queenstown to Invercargill to raise money to help keep our choppers in the air.
If you have any spare change floating about please donate. Every dollar counts.
