Raising funds for a new youth mental health facility in Canterbury

  • NEW CHALLENGE 102KM IN ONE DAY

A massive thank you to everyone who has got involved so far. We're sitting on 70% of our target of $10,000. There's a little bit to go so I've decided to a add a new challenge to this campaign. In a little over six weeks I'll be running my first unsupported Ultra Marathon with a good running friend, Chris. We will be running 102km from the St James through Lake Sumner area, over the Harper pass, down to Otira and then finally picking our way up and over the Goat pass ( famously known as the mountain run in the Coast to Coast) finishing at the Bealey Pub for a cold beer! It's 102km of insane back country terrain with over 3000m of vertical! Sounds hard - but the good news is that I'll be selling each and every one of those hard earned km's for charity so that you don't have to run it. You'll get the knowledge that you've supported the Maia health foundation and that you've spurred me on for another km - who knows, you might by the last km that makes all the difference!

All you need to do is donate $20 on this page with some words of encouragement - I'll let you know what km is yours!

  • Race Day

Race day has finally come and gone. The Resilience Ultra - absolutely lived up to the name! Foot deep mud, bog holes, crazy descents, log fall - this picture was a few of the legends I ran with! It was an absolute slog, but what an adventure though! It’s been a crazy journey to get here! I’m pumped for all the support and encouragement over the last few days from everyone. Even better, we’ve managed to raise nearly $7000 for the @maiahealth foundation!

There is a new adventure coming and I'll be continuing my fundraising throuh the year. Watch this space...

Thanks for all the support so far team! We're well on the way with nearly 30% of the target raised so far. I met with the team Māia Foundation last week and the work going on to get this new facility up and running is pretty impressive.

It was pretty shocking to hear how much in need some of our community after hearing examples of families with kids as young as three years old reaching out for help having to visit the current inadequate facilities.

For those interested, my training is going well - I had a pretty intense hill sprinting session followed by a 3 hour night run up the Port Hills the next day. June is going to be a big month!

Please keep the donations coming and take a minute to share this page to your social groups if you can.
