I'm facing my biggest fear and skydiving out of a plane! (with a parachute of course) All donations will go directly to MS society of NZ.
Bay of Plenty
From a young age, heights have always been something I avoided. From not jumping off the higher diving boards to not participating in high ropes, heights have always been something I strongly dislike.
My goal was to find a creative way to raise funds for a great cause, and what better way than to face my biggest fear of heights!
In 2001, at the age of 40, my mother was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I was only 5 years old at the time. Our family has lived with the effects of MS for the last 20 years.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a disease in which the immune system eats away at the protective covering of nerves. This disrupts the communication between the brain and the body and causes many painful symptoms including pain, fatigue and impaired co-ordination.
For my mum, it has now gotten to the point where being mobile is becoming a struggle due to minimal feeling in her legs and feet. This is also accompanied by memory loss and easy frustration.
This is why I would like to go to the extremes of literally jumping out of my comfort zone to raise funds for the MS Society of New Zealand.
For this event, The jump has been kindly been sponsored by 4 local Katikati businesses:
Sheffield Street Automotive Katikati
Paper Plus Katikati
Common Ground Cafe Katikati
Village Butchery Katikati
The date of the jump is to be confirmed but will take place on or around the 6th of August 2021.
It will be conducted through Skydive Tauranga,
2 Kittyhawk Way, Mount Maunganui, Tauranga 3116, New Zealand.
Professional video footage and photographs of the jump (featuring me being incredibly frightened) can be seen after the jump.
Please contribute to an amazing cause and enjoy watching me conquer my biggest fear with an incredibly scared look on my face!
