Raising money to carry on supporting the youth of Cromwell

Cromwell, Otago

Myself and The Workshop Fitness Centre Team and raising funds for The Cromwell Youth Trust.

My name is Matt Edwards ( The owner of The Workshop) and suffered from depression since I was a teenager and it just seems to be part of my inheritance. It runs in the family but I want to find a way for it to stop with me. I'm not nieve and I understand that's a big ask, but if there is a way for us as Kiwis to find a way to have the help at the top of the cliff and not just park an ambulance waiting at the bottom then sign me up! The Youth Trust do amazing things with mental health Education and support for teens in Cromwell. To start with Educating our next generation with the tools to arm themselves against mental illness is a great start lowering the New Zealand suicide rates.

To Raise the funds my dad and I are walking from my home town (his current town) balclutha, south otago to my current town Cromwell central Otago, which is a little over 170km to Raise the funds. Once we arrive there my amazing employees (my crew) will be waiting there on different cardio equipment. We will be attempting to finish 4440km in 24hours to honor those men who took their lives last year. We are hoping to receive $2 for every km we complete 😀
