My Mt. Everest Base Camp Challenge

Your generosity will go a long way towards providing quality care and forever homes for mistreated and abandoned animals that are rescued by the Humane Society. The society relies solely on its volunteers taking rescued animals home, then carefully rehoming them after rehabilitation and treatment.

For those of you who don't know me, I'm a huge advocate for doing our bit for animal and children's charities. Back in 2011, I was fortunate to find and adopt my golden retriever ICE from the Humane Society. (Check out the 'GALLERY' for pics of ICE). If not for the society's efforts, this wonderful dog would not have come into our lives.

Climbing to altitudes above 5,600m with 50% less oxygen and -20°C temperatures will be challenging, but I'm determined and passionate about completing this lifelong dream. Together with a couple of mates and our Sherpa guides, I'll be climbing past Base Camp towards the Khumbu Icefall to catch stunning views of the Everest summit and fulfill my fundraising goal at the same time.

I organised this trek because I wanted to make a difference and give a little back to this charity that depends on people like you and me for support. I'm extremely excited to get started and I hope if anything, I've inspired you to take part in a cause.
