A 3,000km fundraising ride for Dementia in memory of Joanie Sommerville
Christchurch, Canterbury
Pete and David are riding 3,000km from Cape Reinga to Bluff to raise awareness of Dementia in New Zealand and to raise funds for Dementia Canterbury. We are promoting the link between exercise and reducing the risk of Dementia: what is good for the heart is good for the head.
This ride is in memory of Joanie Sommerville who lost her battle with Dementia in January 2022.
Final update: Total raised $13,561🙂 3 April 2023
On Friday I was presented with a $2,000 cheque (see picture!) from staff at Wyma Solutions and yesterday the ebike offered by 99Bikes sold at auction for $1,400 .. so the fund raising total including your generous donation, comes to $13,561. I am delighted for Dementia Canterbury.
This is my last update. The Ride to Remember has been a great adventure creating a gallery of treasured memories.
Thank you for your support.
