474 men take their own life in New Zealand every year. This run covers 100 metres for every one of them, 47.4 kilometres (118.5 track laps) in a single day to make their loss visible and to stand with the men still here.
At BUILD, and as men, we believe no man should face his darkest moments alone. This isn't just a run, it's our way to show brotherhood and solidarity and a reflection of everything BUILD stands for.
BUILD founder Sam will be running the full distance, with brothers joining leg by leg. United, we send one message: no man has to face this alone, and there is always a last chance to reach out.
The cause: The Last Chance Project
This event is proudly organised by BUILD. Every dollar raised goes to The Last Chance Project, which supports men's mental health and suicide prevention. 100% of funds raised go directly to the charity.
We know times are tough. If you're not in a position to donate, we still want you there. Come and join us. Walk, jog, or run a lap at Lovelock Track on 1 August from 9am. Show up, stand with us, and let's send that message together.
The Last Chance Project is a charitable trust dedicated to restoring the mana of men across Aotearoa, creating safe, inclusive spaces where every man is seen, heard, and supported.
