RUNNING FOR 24 HOURS, WITH THE GOAL OF RAISING $10,000
Auckland
Every year the Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter charity conducts over 1,000 emergency responses, rescuing over 26,000 Kiwi's over their 50 year history. Which is remarkable when considering that each life-saving mission costs $5,000 to fund. They were also the first ever civilian aeromedical service provider in the world, and 100% rely on donations to operate their services.
As someone who's ridden in the Chopper and had family members rescued, the Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter is an essential service that saves lives. Thus, from 9am on April 12th I will be running in the North Shore 24 Hour Challenge around a 6.4km track in Lauderdale Reserve, Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland to raise funds for this critical service.
Essentially, I'm just a 23-year-old lad from Tāmaki Makaurau with a dream to raise funds for the Westpac Chopper by pounding the trail for 24 hours. What started as a marathon at the end of high school has built up to this moment, as I try to find where the limit is for a good cause.
If you want to join and help raise funds by also running, whether it's 1 lap or the full 24 hours, or simply want to spectate the event, and get behind it with donations haere mai! The more the merrier, let's smash this donation goal!
NO EXCUSES. NO WAY AROUND IT. WE'RE GETTIN IT DONE. GET AMONGST IT. LESHGOOO!
