After a week off with food poisoning (Kinder easter bunnies have a lot to answer for) and an old injury playing up, I'm stoked to say the rest and daily yoga did the injury good and I feel ready to channel Grandad and run 42k next weekend.

This morn I did a 1/4 of a marathon (a grand total of 10.5kms) to test the leg and it feels dandy. Lake Rotorua here I come!

  • Rotorua Marathon here we come!

      8 December 2021

As we all know injuries put a stall on the marathon plans, with covid cancelling them. A great silver lining of this though is we are now going to run grandad's favourite marathon - Rotorua!

I'm guessing it was his fave because it's hilly and challenging, but as scary as that is for us runners that makes it even more special to run it in his memory.

We will continue fundraising until then - the 7th May 2022.

  • Event postponed - agh!

      14 September 2021

    Hey team,

Our marathon event in grandad's memory was supposed to be this coming Sunday. As we all know, the C word is back and has cause some dramas when it comes to gatherings. Our event has been postponed until Oct or until next year (TBC).

This is potentially a blessing in disguise as Kirsten and I (Megan) have both been told by our physios that we wouldn't be allowed to run it if it somehow is safe to proceed in October anyway. We've both had injuries in the last month and it's thrown a spanner into training. We've both cried over not being able to run, and it sucks that all this training and getting marathon ready has not payed off yet.

HOWEVER never fear, we are a determined bunch and are putting as much effort into recovery as we do into our training. The four of us already been looking at events to replace this one (still marathon and half marathon distance) so that we can, a) still run in grandad's memory, and b) do you all proud.

We will update once we know our new running date, in the meantime please send healing prayers and vibes our way.

    x

  • All four sisters are now in!

      28 June 2021

After Maddi decided to sign up for the 10km, Imogen was pushed from the "No, I don't want to" camp to the "okay fine, let's run this thing" camp and signed up too.

That means all 4 x Raynor girls are signed up, ready to make grandad proud.
