I'm running the Round the Bays half marathon in February 2019 in my Dad's memory and to raise money for the Stroke Foundation!
Wellington
Hi there!
My name's Jess, and I've decided to run the Round the Bays half marathon in February 2019 to raise money for the Stroke Foundation.
In December 2017 my wonderful dad suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke. After a month in hospital he peacefully passed away. His passing was devastating, and I've been spending the better part of this year grappling with this loss.
I've decided a way I can work through my grief and do something good is run the Round the Bays half marathon to raise money for the Stroke Foundation - I'm doing it in Dad's memory, and to raise money to help those affected by strokes and their families.
My lovely Dad suffered a haemorrhagic stroke in December 2017 and passed away in January 2018. I want to raise funds for the Stroke Foundation to support the work they do for those who have suffered strokes and their families.
I did it!! 17 February 2019
Well today was the day, Round the Bays day!
It was a beautiful morning, it started at 7:45am and took us to the other side of the Miramar Peninsula and back.
I DID IT! I finished the Round the Bays half marathon! I'm so pleased with how it went, my time was 2:02:12. As you can see from the attached pic, running 21km makes you look a little haggard haha.
I've raised more than I could have hoped for in Dad's memory for the Stroke Foundation. This page will remain open until the end of the month in case anyone else wants to donate, then off goes the monies.
I just hope that wherever Dad is, he's proud. I did it for you Dad, love you <3.
