Raising funds to give back to the charities who supported our family & to honour our special Cam.
Napier, Hawke's Bay
My sweet husband lost his life to Brain Cancer less than a year from his diagnosis at the age of 30. He left behind his beautiful daughter Elsie who at the time had just turned 1. Prior to his passing I told him I would be running in the Hawkes Bay Marathon to raise some money to give back to the charities who so lovingly donated time and resources to our family prior to his passing and also have continued to support me following my huge loss. These charities are The White Matter Brain Cancer Trust who donated a significant sum of money towards having the bathroom renovated in our home so that Cam could shower there, Cranford Hospice who supported us in HUGE ways prior to his passing and continue to provide counselling services for me & Brain Tumour Support NZ who provided a supportive community for me to meet with throughout our journey.
Cams sister, Cams brother & his partner, Our Bridal Party and their plus ones, Two of our best friends from Melbourne, His Mum & I will all be running in the Hawkes Bay Marathon in honour of his life. It is a privilege to have our health. Running was something Cam was definitely unable to do from the point of his diagnosis so it feels special to be able to do in honour of him.
