Fundraising for Life Education Trust - North Shore
Auckland
In March this year I joined the board of Life Education Trust North Shore in Auckland, one of 32 community trusts nationally which deliver a health and wellbeing programme in schools through our fleet of mobile classrooms. In the North Shore area we visit over 30 schools and hold sessions with around 14,000 children each year.
Our purpose is to inspire tamariki and rangatahi to make positive choices.
Our teaching covers content across five key strands: identity and resilience, relationships and communities, food and nutrition, human biology, and substances.
LETNS is operated by a group of 7 volunteer trustees (including me) who support our two amazing educators (Jenni and Charlie) to deliver our programme to primary and intermediate schools across the North Shore. We are not funded by any government department so rely on revenue from schools, grants and donations.
I’ve run the North Shore quarter marathon over recent years so I thought why not “compete” again dressed as Harold the Giraffe.
An 11km “run” across Milford and Takapuna beaches dressed as a giraffe on Fathers’ Day (5 September 2021)? I’m in!
There are many wonderful and deserving causes in the world right now but if you are able to support me, Harold and the wider Life Education team, we’d be immensely grateful.
Ngā mihi nui
Phil
Initial goal revised 15 September 2021
Ngā mihi nui for all our the donations. These will make such a difference to Life Education Trust North Shore’s ability to support our tamariki and rangatahi to make positive choices. We have hit our $10k initial target so I’ve raised the target to $15k. I’ve said I’ll go out and do it again if we hit $15k! Kia kaha. Phil
Thanks so much for getting us up to our target! We at Life Education Trust North Shore are incredibly grateful and all the donations will make a massive difference to us being able to continue to support our tamariki and rangatahi to make positive choices - ngā mihi nui!!!
