❤️❤️❤️And it's done. It's taken a good 36 hours to process the whirlwind of emotions and the one that keeps coming out on top... gratitude. For my family and friends who have put up with my nonsense, for my lovely training buddy Jo who literally held me up at the end, for the local businesses and plogging enthusiasts who joined my cleanup efforts, for all of you who followed along and donated your hard earned money to this fundraiser, and finally, to ANZMES and Professor Tate for supporting those folks living with ME/CFS who need their help ❤️❤️❤️

My training bud Jo and and I ran a cheeky teams event this weekend, running 30km of trail loops each. We aimed to have fun and be safe and ended up coming 3rd out of the women's teams! So proud! Time to rest up, eat well, and remember WHY I'm doing this. Thank you all for your support x

Yesterday, my running buds and I supported each other through 32kms of snacks, laughs, aches, and finally, fries. I had a lot of time to think about how grateful I am to have the ability to take up this challenge. I also had time to think about my hopes for the money donated by you generous folks. From myself, from Professor Tate, from ANZMES: thank you.

    Where have the weeks gone??

Yesterday, my training buds and I ran out a 21km route that covers the first half of the marathon. It was hard and beautiful. This is where the mental games begin, and is a great opportunity for me to remind myself WHY I'm doing this. So much gratitude to everyone who has donated and anyone who is following along. Thank you ❤️

Week 11 was derailed by a pesky headcold, but how could our long run not be amazing with such a happy smiling face to send us off? 28 km of hay in the barn with my friend Laura and the mighty Lucy!

Week 10 is DONE! Between the gnarly tempo run in the rain and the longest run the dogs have ever done, my friend Jo and I are rocking this training. The countdown to the Dunedin Marathon is on!! $1333 raised for ME/CFS research for Professor Tate-- thank you all!

I can't believe it- we just passed the 50% mark for my fundraising goal! Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed.

The $1000 raised so far will support Professor Tate's research into ME/CFS, and the 280 km of training under my belt will support me to get to the finish line in just over 7 weeks...

Sunday's long run brought us up to halfway through training: 8 weeks done, 8 to go.

Super proud of how well I'm caring for my body, stretching, taking in protein. One thing I learnt from Z during his illness was the importance of observing and conserving your energy envelope. Keeping mine nice and full!

First important long run this weekend... but for now, celebrating Pepper's longest run ever ❤️🐺

Week 5 down! Today was a special one, as it was Pepper's longest run ever. It's strange how time moves so much quicker when you have a distraction as cute as her!

Week 4 done! 25% of training for the Dunedin Marathon 2023 in the bag. My long run was one of those long runs where everything just clicks, and my training buddy Jo and I had the best time in the hills. Thankyouthankyouthankyou to the wonderful people that have donated to my give a little- every dollar of those 628 will be hugely appreciated by Professor Tate. Stay tuned for an exciting development soon!!

Week 3 is done! The weather for our long run was as cold as the sea looks. There was ice; I fell. As these long runs start getting longer, I'm constantly thinking of how grateful I am for your support- closing in in $500 donated for Professor Tate and his research. Thank you to everyone who has donated, and if you're interested in following along, please follow at https://instagram.com/running_for_me_nz?igshid=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA==
