Raising funds for Waipuna Hospice, which does incredible work in our community.
Bay of Plenty
My best friend Heather and I have been a pair since university. We have very different lives, and live in different cities, but we are close. And now, since her cancer diagnosis, even closer.
Palliative chemo has not worked so we are doing everything else we can think of to make the most of our time. This includes hopefully completing a 6km+ run during the Waipuna Hospice Super Hero Run/Walk 2020 on March 22 in Tauranga.
Heather will be in her local hospice eventually. The work they do is amazing, and they need support to keep doing it.
I started running last year, and it helps when things feel tough. I'm doing this run to raise awareness and funds for Waipuna Hospice in Bay of Plenty. They need to raise over $4 million every year so every dollar counts!
My best friend has terminal bowel cancer. The hospices need our support so they can support our people.
Cancellation of Event - Wonder Woman will still run 14 March 2020
Hello friends, and amazing friends of friends,
Yesterday management of Waipuna Hospice announced their decision to cancel the Superhero Walk/Run on March 22 due to COVID-19.
I am very disappointed, as I am sure the team there are. But I understand their decision.
However, I will still run the course on March 22, even if it's alone.
I hope this works for all you lovely people - the money will still all go to Waipuna Hospice.
