In memory of Robert we are running in the Aoraki Mount Cook Marathon and fundraising towards Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Otago
In memory of my beloved brother Robert I will be running the Aoraki Mount Cook Marathon alongside my friends and family. Robert had struggled with Chronic fatigue which took away so many things from him including his ability to practice his passion judo.
All money raised will be donated to the Associated New Zealand ME Society (ANZMES). ANZMES serve New Zealanders with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, a cause Robert cared a lot about and it's advancement.
Throughout the fundraising journey we will also be raising awareness of mental illness and the shapes and forms it can take. The Aoraki Mount Cook Marathon falls within the New Zealand Mental Health Awareness Week which we are very supportive of.
We would love and appreciate your support :)
Thank you so much! 5 October 2021
Woohoo the fundraiser has been a success.
Not only have we raised $2,500 together for ME/CFS research but we have also raised awareness for what the condition is as well as for mental health. The money will be going towards research at the University of Otago biochemistry Dept for finding a ME/CFS biomarker. It is fitting as Robert was very invested in this area of research.
Thank you everyone for the very generous donations and support ❤
