Running the Auckland Half Marathon to remember my dad and support the kea.
Auckland
My dad Ross died in July this year of metastatic prostate cancer. He loved running and he loved the Southern Alps, so in his memory I've decided to run the Auckland Half Marathon on Sunday 3 November, alongside a couple of dear old friends, Kip and Brad, in support of the Kea Conservation Trust https://www.keaconservation.co.nz/
The alps would be unthinkable without the presence of this iconic and gregarious bird, so if you have the means, I'd be very grateful for your support.
A very successful campaign! 18 November 2024
Thank you so much to everyone who donated to this – in the end, Kea Conservation Trust will receive a terrific $1100 thanks to all of your generosity.
I managed to complete the Auckland Half Marathon in the totally decent time of 2:01:56, definitely spurred on by thoughts of your gifts in memory of my dad.
So – thank you, and viva the kea!
Paul! On behalf of the kea, thank you for this incredible generosity
Thanks so much Shelby!
