Fundraising for Sir John Kirwan Foundation

Nationwide

Hello, 🤩

In February 2023, I am running in the Wellington Round the Bays half marathon (21.1km) alongside my colleagues from the Projectworks team.

During my running training and the event I want to raise awareness and funds for the Sir John Kirwan Foundation - ‘Mitey’ Programme. ⭐️⭐️

Mental health is a serious illness, with 1 in 5 Kiwis reporting poor mental well-being. 🇳🇿

Growing up, myself and many of my close friends have struggled with mental illness. ❤️‍🩹 The accessibility to support and education systems around this, unfortunately is a waiting game. The wait time can be weeks or even months. 🗓️

Trying to educate young people about such a serious problem is difficult, but the ‘Mitey’ programme that Sir John Kirwan started in 2020 is a treasure. The aim is to have the mightiest kids in the world. 💪

Sir John Kirwan's vision is to provide mental health education to support young individuals to create a tool box of skills and knowledge they may need to to support themselves or others around them. Built into the NZ curriculum, Mitey aligns everyday teaching with tailored strategies to face emotional and well-being challenges. https://www.mitey.org.nz

I want to support New Zealand kids getting the knowledge and tools early so they can help themselves and others to be the mightiest and most resilient they can be for all of their lives.

Any donations to the cause would be much appreciated. I am looking forward to the 14 weeks of training and running in the event !! 🏃🏼‍♀️
