Running the distance to support those affected by brain tumours

We will run two half marathons to raise money for the Brain Tumour Support Trust NZ, to help support those living with brain tumours.

Auckland

With their first run complete, Gail and Sally are going to RUN their second half marathon on 20th September. They want to do this to raise money for the Brain Tumour Support Trust NZ, an organisation that offers support to anyone affected with a brain tumour and their family and Whānau.

WHY?

Gail’s eldest brother Richard passed away after his battle with brain cancer, nothing can explain how cancer chooses its victim and swallows them whole. Despite his struggle, his beautiful soul exuded a love for life that was admired by all. To help keep his memory alive, Gail wants to raise funds for the Brain Tumour Support Trust in hope that this contribution will help all the individuals and families that this disease affects.

Sadly, Sally’s mum Marilyn passed away on the 17th July 2020 from her brain tumour. She battled each stage courageously with bravery and grace. In her memory Sally wants to raise as much as possible to help this organisation support anyone living through a similar journey.

We know and understand how invaluable an organisation like the Brain Tumour Support Trust is for individuals and their families living with brain tumours, because we have both lived it. We both want to raise as much money as we can to help this organisation to continue its wonderful service, to help support all families in NZ who are on this cancer journey.

So please sponsor us!

We want to support this wonderful organisation as we both have personal experiences of family members affected by brain tumours, and understand how invaluable a service like this is for individuals and their families living with brain tumours.
