Willys final wish
Auckland
The legend, the icon , and my mum, Willy Kloeten passed away on the 6th July 2026.
Mum was diagnosed with cancer 23 years ago. And what a miracle the last 23 years have been, given her short life expectancy following her diagnosis.
Unfortunately her cancer battle has come to an end and one of her final requests was that a donation was made to Mercy Hospice.
A keen supporter of the hospice herself, she would volunteer at the Ponsonby hospice shop once a fortnight.
When mums cancer returned, the hospice was involved in taking care of her until she passed away. She had such high praise for them in her last couple of weeks and I will be forever grateful to the hospice for taking care of mum in her final journey of life.
So, to support mums final wish I am going to run 100km in the month of August to raise money for Mercy Hospice.
Please follow my journey and donate as you wish!
Thank you
Martina
That’s a wrap! 30 August 2026
100km done!
Thank you everyone who has donated. We raised almost $4000!! Wow! I am forever grateful for the support and love from you all.
Mum has left such a huge whole in my heart, and in our lives and I love and miss her dearly. But she will live on through all of us, and I know she would be so proud of what we have achieved!
Thank you again Mercy Hospice for looking after mum in her final leg of life. You treated her with kindness and dignity, and it made everything a little less painful.
That’s it from me!
I will find you in the stars, in the warmth of each sunrise, in the song of a Tui at Orere, and underneath the Pohutukawa where you will rest.
Your love with stay with me always.
I love you mum.
