Thank you everyone for your extremely generous donations towards helping Caroline with my challenge to run my first ever Half Marathon!

This morning as I drove the 50min drive out to Mission Bay, I felt a little underprepared. But my heart told me that somehow I was going to do it!

Up until today the longest distance I have ever run is 11km (twice in my life!). Today I ran 21km in 2hr 48min! I am still in total shock that I did this.

But my driving force was the whole reason why I signed up to do it in the first place. And that was in an effort to help Caroline.

As I ran this race today I looked out at the beautiful ocean views and appreciated every moment. I said to myself that next year I want to run this race with Caroline! So here's to next year Caroline!! xxx

    10 hours to go!!!

The girls and I were out at Mission Bay this afternoon and collected our race bibs.

Grace decided she wanted to enter into the 2km Kid's Dash because she wanted to help raise money for Caroline too ❤

I'm on recovery from a chest cold and decided this morning I'm going to still race tomorrow. I'm just going to do the best I can because giving up is not an option.

Caroline you have kept me focused and driven to do this, you are such a positive and supportive woman. I know you are extremely grateful for the generous donations. I'll be thinking of you all the way xxxx

Thank you again to you all for your encouragement and generous donations. I greatly appreciate it.

    Love Alison x x

  • Awesome news from Caroline!

      16 March 2023

Due to the developing severity of my condition and deteriorating health, I have just been informed by my New Zealand neurosurgeon that he is now prepared to risk the surgery in New Zealand. This will happen within the next several weeks.

This is massive news as it means I will no longer have to raise the funds for having the surgery done privately in Australia.

Although the surgery itself will now be fully covered by the public health system, donations made on this page will continue to go towards care for my children at this time, and other expenses associated with surgery and recovery. As you can imagine I am still unable to work, and won't be able to return to work for at least the duration of my recovery period.

I want to thank you again so much for all you have done and given to support me as I go through this. Your humbling generosity has meant the world to me and my family!
