Zoetis NZ supporting South Pacific Animal Welfare (SPAW)

Two teams from Zoetis are participating in the Panasonic People's Triathlon in Auckland on Sunday the 3rd of December 2017 to raise funds to support South Pacific Animal Welfare (SPAW).

South Pacific Animal Welfare is a registered New Zealand charity founded in 2010. Their goal is to run veterinary care programmes on South Pacific islands. So far SPAW has run over 30 aid programmes on the islands of Tongatapu, Vava'u, Niue, Samoa, Fiji and Rarotonga.

The charity recruits veterinary and vet nurse volunteers and sources the medicines and equipment required to run desexing and veterinary care clinics on these island locations.

SPAW's key philosophies include:

• Making veterinary care accessible to South Pacific Island Communities

• Foster long term and sustainable change to the health and well-being of animals living in island communities by being regularly present

• Work collaboratively with local agencies and governments as a conduit to delivering veterinary care to these communities

• Encourage and promote the benefits of spaying and neutering across all of the programmes

• Promote a respect for and encourage learning about Pacific Island cultures within the organisation and programme

Zoetis has been SPAW’s Premium Partner since 2010 and our company provides an allocation of product to the charity every year. However, SPAW receives no government funding so we want to help them further by raising funds to enable this charity to continue the important work that they do. All of their care is provided free of charge and we think this is just amazing.

By participating in this triathlon Zoetis wants to help SPAW deliver their much needed services to animals and communities of the South Pacific. Your donation will go directly toward the health improvement and well-being of animals in need.
