Raising funds for the Upside Downs Education Trust
Auckland
In the build up to my first Marathon in Queenstown in November I've decided to take the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for the invaluable UpsideDowns Education Trust. Established in 2002, to support families of young children with Down Syndrome. The objective of the Trust is to help fund specialist educational programmes, vital in improving the learning development of these fantastic children, enable them to integrate fully into the community, and in the long term, enrich their lives.
As many of you know my youngest son George has been lucky enough to receive support from the Trust. One on one Speech therapy translates to George being able communicate through signing and some words within our family, reads his school reader books, and grow in confidence in his mainstream school and forge new friendships.
