Please support Volunteer Service Abroad charity to enable positive change in the Pacific, through skills transfer and capacity building.
International
I'll be starting a 1 year volunteer role in the Solomon Islands in about 6 weeks.
The business analysis skills needed to help its national water authority to operate successfully (it works to provide safe water supply and sanitation) aren't readily available locally, so I'll support as a Business Analysis Adviser. A key objective for me is to ensure knowledge sharing and training, so the capability continues locally after I've returned to NZ.
And this role is an opportunity for me too: to learn more about my own Pacific heritage and to contribute to its community. I'm super-excited.
I'll be deployed by the charity Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA), which supports international development across the Pacific and Asia. VSA has been carrying out its amazing work for 60 years - originally under it's founding president, Sir Edmund Hillary. Learn more at https://www.vsa.org.nz/our-work/
VSA relies in part on donations, to supplement funding from NZ's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. So your contribution -large or small- to support the costs for volunteers is much appreciated!
I'll put my money where my mouth is too: I'll match $1 for every $2 donated.
Tanggio tumas!
