Raising funds to help the extremely impoverished Rwenjaza community of Uganda.
Hoon Hay, Christchurch
On the 28th of November 2024, Saskia and many of her OLA school friends will be setting off to 'Walk with a Purpose' raising funds to make a significant and life saving difference in the lives of others.
Saskia is passionate about making a difference and has decided to raise funds for three areas of Fountain of Peace's work in Uganda. These being -
1) The feeding programme at Rwenjaza Hillside School.
2) Purchasing 'Mama Kits' to help vulnerable pregnant mums with the safe delivery of their babies (NZ$20 each).
3) The life saving boda boda (motorbike taxi) service which transports vulnerable pregnant mums in labour to a health centre to give birth (NZ$18 each).
Saskia and friends will start walking at 7 am and will walk a one and a half hour route, arriving to school in time to start their school day. This represents the distance many children in Uganda walk to and from school each day.
The heart of Saskia and her friends 'Fountain of Peace NZ - Walk with a Purpose' is that these students can come together for something much bigger than themselves, to make a lasting and life saving difference in the lives of others. They would be so grateful for your support.
